1. I got seven of these all from different e-mail addresses. They were sent by spammers.

2. There is no website mentioned, only a gmail e-mail address.

3. No address of the company.

4. There is a web site at Auction Express, but they do not claim to be a Swedish luxury goods manufacturer.

5. Remember the old adage. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and smells like a duck, then it is a duck. Or in this case spam.

If you want to waste your money, if would be a better idea to draw it from the bank and burn it on a bonfire. You'll get more pleasure.

I got a return email from Catherine Adams, it read as follows:

We would like to consider you for the position of administrative assistant/sales support within Auctions Express. In the attachments you will find the agreement with a detailed job description. If you are interested in this trial period, which will last for one month, during which you will receive training, salary, and commission, please see the attached agreement. Upon successful completion of the trial period you may receive a contract and continue working with Auctions Express, change from part-time to full-time or continue working part-time.

Please read carefully the trial period agreement, complete it and forward back to us either via email. If you have any questions email us.

Thank You,
Catherine Adams

complete it and forward back t us either via email (then it stops). They actually want you to sign a document, which means they have your signature & request your bank details, don't be fooled.

I have also just received an email ffrom Catherine considering me for the position as above today. I sent my CV to them yesterday. I will not provide any banking details until I have checked them thoroughly.

I'm not sure how they could scam anyone this way, but I'll be aware now, many thanks, James

I also recieved this email through my works email address!!! it was sent to the whole company so this really needs to be adressed weather its a real email or just spam. I forwarded a copy of my CV with the private details removed eg phone number and adress.

I have taken your advice and sent a reply email back to this so clled Catherine Adams asking to verify a few details

1. A website for the company that i can navigate around and get more info on the company

2. An adress of the company that i can check via a 3rd party to see if it does actually exist

4. A web site that I can check

5. mobile and land line numbers that i can call and speak to someone.

6. why are they asking for Bank Details over a non secure email?

I will forward the reply if I do actually get one!

I've checked through their reply and they attached their T&C's. This looks to me like they're money laundering and want to use our bank accounts to do this, but I could be wrong. I think the Tax man would love this lot, very strange!!

I received this scam email distributed by our school manager somehow. I was looking for a Job recently and sent out my CV and the conspiracy agreement with all the personal and bank details back to the fraundster named Catherine Adams, catherine.adams.ae@gmail.com.
As soon as I receive this job might be fraud, I reject to receive her fund transfer to my account. however, she did not listen to me and said you have signed the agreement and you have to enforce the liability for this job. at last, The fucking dirty money 2000 pounds reach my account this morning. she called me on the phone with Private Number while I was still on bed and instruct me to send the money via Western Union. I refuse to do so again and she start annoying me with full day calling me with persuasion and scam thread even though I said I will definitely transfer the money back to where it come from. I have an appointment to speak to my bank personnel tomorrow I wish who can help me out to put the things right. the fucking criminals are wasting my precious time.........God blesses anyone who are being tempted by these criminals.

You should go to the Police as well. If they won't take action, then go to BBC or your local paper.

Let me know how you get on at the bank.

By the way I had another e-mail from them today and now they are a Finnish company.

Your e-mail and that last fact, proves they are fraudsters up to no good.

If they are using it to Launder money why not just play along and let them transfer the money to your account. There's nothing they can legally do to get it back.

Having said that I wouldnt want them to have my address.

I just received this email from a concerned friend. My immediate thought was why they would need a CV giving all your details for a job working from home and using only a computer. Very iffy and should be distanced. It would be nice if a computer nerd could find out from where these monkeys operate from.

I had some people similar to them. Dav Furniture limited This was done very well because they even had a job advert placed on Reed recruitment on or around the 1st of July 2008. One would think a company like Reed would check out the fellows before they advertise for them. I ended up thinking it's a good Idea I even sent them my CV and other details. In short they turned out to be using stolen cheques and getting you to present them to your bank. This caused me alot of problems with my bank Barclays. I had to prove the source of all my other funds dating over an year ago as the froze the account due to this cheque. I tried to explain what had happened and even produce emails from this cons, but in the end barclays closed down my account and gave me the money I had before the cheque, and I guess that's harsh on me given that was the only thing ever gone wrong in the account and it was done innocently.

What I would advise anyone is not to even think about this kind of Jobs.
I learnt and I can tell you they are a bunch of criminals.

That is awful. I bet Barclays and the police weren't really interested.

I would write to your MP about this story and also suggest that if you don't get an apology from Reed, that you write the whole story up and give it to a sensible journalist. If you want any help with this, send me an e-mail of phone 01440-783789.

Hi,
I received this job offer via a friend who asked me to check it out. I sent my CV to them and got a response saying that I had been considered for a part time role and was sent a 5 page terms and consditions /agreement to sign. I wrote back saying I would take my time to read through it but in the meantime had 3 questions to ask as follows:
1> I am very comfortable with collections as this was a norm within my last position but just want to know whether you will provide me with ID in addition to whatever I have myself.

2> On assumption that you will provide me with an ID will you not have to meet up with me to confirm my own identity since you seem to be trusting a total stranger with potentially huge sums of money?

3> What will be the extent of the geogrphical area I will be covering?

I still haven't had a response and that got me thinking. I had already signed the agreement but was reluctant to send it off until I received a response to my query. Meanwhile my quest for further info brought me to this page and boy am I glad.

I just received one of these today. Like so many scams, the English isn't quite right (perhaps because it's translated from the Finnish??!), although better than most. I didn't think it was maney-laundering until I read this site: my guess was that it was a sophisticated way of getting their hands on loads of resumes for ID fraud.

I'm getting sick of this sort of scum. If it isn't rubbish like this, it's the slime that try to get your bank account details.

I had 4 transfers into my account and my bank at this very moment have stopped any movement on my account!!I explained what it was and thinking it was ligit. Then found out that is was money laundering!! My bank at this moment is going through all the emails that I received from Catherine Adms if that is even the persons name. I don't know what is going to happen and is very worried at the thought of it. This is going to affect the rest of my life now. I will probably never get credit and knowing that these people have my address is also worrying. I have learn't a big lesson. Theses people should be caught.

Thank you everyone for posting your experiences and opinion about auction express. I too tried to check them out to no avail except a website from the states.

Being a single mum working full time I thought it sounded like a good idea to earn some extra cash for my kids. The awful thing is... my 15 year old son would have gone for this and probably asked me for my bank details so he could earn a bit of cash for himself. Its the vulnerable that seem to get caught out, the bastards.

I don't know the solution, but I hope someone comes up with one soon.

Yes I am pleased that we can rely on people who care to set up forums like this to enable others to see this scam for what it is, but what's wrong with everyone being scared that they know your name and address!! What are they gonna do? come round and beat you up?
Did anyone notice the second earliest comment from some geek saying he has spoken to these people and that they are a company, obviously them trying to put us off the scent.

Good job us Brits believe that there is no such thing as a free lunch and that any sh*t like this is always too good to be true.

Hi,

I received an email from this company and I presumed it was company that got my details through Total Jobs as this is where I posted my CV.

As soon as I read the email, I was dubious about it as the starting salary was ridiculous for part time work. I looked up the company, and surprise, surprise, no such company! I then found this blog and I'm totally astonished that so many people have been conned by them.

I'm fuming that they now have details such as my address and phone number, through what I presumed was a secure, well policed recruitment website.

I have written to Total Jobs highlighting the problem, for them to block this company and to monitor their website more closely for con merchants.

Hopefully Total Jobs are noe aware of the situation and if more of you email them too, then it will make it more emphasised, hopefully making them act on it quickly so nobody else falls for this terrible scam.

Thanks to all of you who have posted these comments about ur individual experience.

Like most of u I have uploaded my CV on total jobs and recieved this email from Catherine. I have been job hunting for two months now without success, so when i saw this I gave god thanks for finally finding me something. Then when I started reading especially when I saw they were offering £1,800 plus commission a month for just working 3hrs per day I thought this is too good to be true, but i'll fill out the form anyway and see how it goes (cant hurt right), until I got to the part asking for my bank details straight away without any personal contact.

Thats when I thought I would look up the company on the web and came up with this site.

I am really sorry for the people who did not have the common sence to look into the company before providing thier details.

god blees u all in your job search

Glad I read up first - I applied through Total Jobs too - the problem there is that they now have my CV which contains far more information than I'd want crooks like this getting their hands on - thank god not my account details.

I reckon it might be worth keeping an eye on your credit file (like through Experian?) so you can keep an eye to see if the scum bags try ID theft too....

What a con. Bad enough looking for another job without this happening too!!
