World Youth Organization for Human Rights

This was spammed and there is no trace of the organisation on the Internet. I suspect it's fraud, but not quite sure how. Although a good bet might be selling bogus air tickets between Anaheim and Dakar.

One out of five.

You should also inform them that you were invited to participate by a friend of yours (Ella Dover), who is a member of the American Youths 4 Peace and a staff of (WORLD YOUTH ORGANIZATION FOR HUMAN RIGHTS).
The benevolent donors of the Organizing Committee will provide round trip air tickets and accommodation for the period of participants Stay in the U.S, to all registered participants. You will only be responsible for your own hotel booking in Dakar where the second phase of the conference will be held. FRAUD. Definitely. I received this today, Dec 17/07. The email addresses are different in my email but the body is the same.

Think about it. They get YOU to book the hotel, they probably are trying to get your passport info when you call their 'conference secrtariat', and they addressed this thing "Dear Sir/Madam".

Not to mention, for something this big about human rights and youth, why would someone tell you to 'say you're a friend of' hers to get in???

Since this is part of the work I do, I thought I'd better make sure, but too many things don't add up here.

its a scam, much simpler than you propose, they will book tickets, rooms ect. you will just have to send them ( whatever they think they can get away with ) for admin costs or whatver. they are just looking for money

Word for word, except for the name, changed from Alina Brian to Alina Brown, the birthday from April 17 to December 17, and the age from 26 to 21.
All the awkward English is intact, making it likely the writer's first language is not English. United States of American???

And if our names are so much like her friends why are the names not included?

*sigh*

Thank you so much for writing about this scam here, i was wondering what on earth to do. I happen to run an organization here and was considering attendance, and therefore requested specifics of the conference. i received none, but was asked politely for a certain "booking" sum by the person concerned.

I am sure that these are scams. They just planned to get money from people towards hotel reservation and flew away. But the question is how they can use the association name.
