2. If the e-mail mentions a well known e-mail address such as from gmail.com, live.com, yahoo.com etc., then why not forward the offending e-mail to abuse@gmail.com, abuse@live.com etc. Hopefully, they'll remove the e-mail address, which will stop people being sucked in.

There are loads of frauds like the example above. I recently replied a advertisement on Gumtree and it turned out to be a fraud. Here you have a copy of the advertisement and the e-mail received:

You meet the criteria to be considered for this position although if successful you will have to complete an aptitude test specific to the role
You will be working from home supporting our current e-commerce team dealing with general enquiries via email and updating / processing customer enquiries, this position is initially contracted for 6 months although there will be oppurtunity to progress within the company.The training for this position will take approximately 14 days for which you will be paid an hourly rate of up to £10 .Please note that due to unforseen response to the advertisment which went live nationally on the 21/06 there is a fully refundable £7.50 deposit (Returned to you upon completion of your training) for the training package as quite simply time-wasters were applying, accepting the package and not continuing with their application and as we require this vacancy to be filled asap this was unnacceptable .
